DFC seeks an experienced Communications Analyst to support two separate projects supporting the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA). The projects will support VA's Enterprise Mail Management Program and Automated Benefits Delivery Program. This position focuses on providing support to create, edit, and disseminate program goals via various communications processes.

What the role requires:

  • Work with clients to draft written materials, prepare presentations and briefings.
  • Develop internal communications: memos, newsletters, MOUs, press releases.
  • Assist with social media and website development.
  • Establish and manage relationships to advise and support clients in determining the best communications and change management strategies and approaches to achieve short- and long-term goals.
  • Leverage superior writing abilities, attention to detail, research skills and solid oral communication skills to develop and finalize accurate, quality deliverables in a timely manner.
  • Support meeting preparation and documentation.
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously without impacting quality, delivery, or timelines.
  • Maintain client confidence and protect operations by maintaining information confidentiality.
  • Work toward professional improvement and certifications; maintains current certifications.
  • Develops and maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops.

What you need to be successful:

  • At least 2 years of experience in communications.
  • Knowledge and experience with programmatic communications methods.
  • Ability to work well in a team-based environment.
  • Ability to work independently and develop client relationships.
  • Ability to lead and facilitate client meetings, conference calls, and capture accurate meeting notes.
  • Strong problem solving and troubleshooting skills with the ability to exercise mature judgment.
  • Well-organized with the ability to handle several projects/clients simultaneously.
  • Strong analytical skills, presentation development and writing skills.
  • Exceptional skills in Microsoft Office Suite, including Microsoft Excel.
  • Experience with MS PowerBI or other dashboarding software.
  • Strong work ethic with a commitment to client service excellence.
  • Strong client presence.
  • Experience working with federal government projects is strongly preferred.

Other important information:

  • Bachelor's degree in communications or a related field is required.
  • Ability to obtain a US government security clearance, if needed, is required.
