Summary/Objective: Responsible for performing and overseeing surveying functions. Performs site surveys, topographic mapping, construction staking, and roadway and boundary surveys for public and private clients.

Essential Functions

• Perform topographic surveys and transfer data into a compatible format for plotting using AutoCAD or Microstation
• Preparation of base maps for projects
• Responsible for preparation of ROW plans
• Partners in research of previous survey evidence, maps, deeds, physical evidence, and other records to obtain data needed for surveys
• Maintains accurate notes, records, and sketches to describe and certify work performed
• Communicate directly with various staff to ensure that the proper plans and projects are completed according to the required priorities
• Communicate with clients and land owners on behalf of the company
• Assist with project scope of work definition and estimating surveying hours/fees
• Assist in Quality Assurance/Quality Control procedures for project work
• Provide mentorship and training to surveying staff
• Exercise judgment in the field regarding safety, operations and technical expertise to meet field conditions
• Performs other duties as required by Department Managers

Education/Experience/Skills

• B.S. or Associate degree in the surveying field or at least 4 years of experience in the related field
• Professional Land Survey Registration is preferred
• Knowledge in Microsoft Office Suit, AutoCAD, and Land Development software
• Valid driver’s license and ability to travel
• Ability to use all survey equipment
• Ability to perform psychical activities including ability to stoop, crouch, crawl, lift 25-30 pounds several times a day
