Thank you for understanding! The DM Estate Staffing Team We are seeking an experienced and skilled Estate Manager to oversee the operations of multiple high-end properties in California. This role requires hands-on leadership, attention to detail, and a strong service-oriented mindset to ensure the seamless management of the residences. You will work closely with household staff, assist with event planning, and manage property maintenance, all while maintaining high standards of quality and organization. A day in the life: A day in this role might start with a trip to one of the nearby ranches, ensuring it's fully stocked and prepared for the principal's upcoming visit. Later, you could return to the main residence to set the table and create an elegant tablescape for an evening dinner party. You'll coordinate with the Chef to confirm everything is on track, walk the property to check that the lighting, music, and overall ambiance are flawless, and address any issues that arise. You might then meet with the managing director to review ongoing projects and provide updates. As guests begin to arrive, you'll greet them warmly, showcase impeccable hospitality, and ensure every detail of the event runs seamlessly. Throughout the day, you'll collaborate closely with the team, supporting them to maintain the highest level of service and creating an environment where everyone can thrive. This role requires a strong team player who's ready to pitch in wherever needed, has a keen eye for detail, and takes pride in ensuring both the principal and guests have an exceptional experience. There is a slight preference for candidates who have yacht experience. Key Responsibilities: Lead and support household staff, including a chef, housekeepers, and a facilities manager. Foster clear communication, professionalism, and efficiency across the team. Partner with the principal to plan and execute events, ranging from informal gatherings to more formal occasions. Oversee all aspects of hospitality, including guest arrangements and event logistics. Ensure the upkeep and functionality of all properties by managing maintenance, overseeing projects, and addressing both immediate and long-term needs. Create and manage budgets for household operations, property maintenance, and events, ensuring responsible spending without compromising quality. Conduct regular visits to other properties for routine maintenance and organization. This role requires travel within California, particularly to nearby ranches. Act as the primary point of contact for the principal and staff, ensuring timely and effective communication. Be available to respond to urgent needs during events or emergencies. Qualifications: Experience: At least 5 years in estate or household management, overseeing multiple high-end properties. Background in luxury hospitality or service is a plus, bringing a polished and professional approach to the role. Experience in planning and executing private events or gatherings. Skills: Strong organizational skills with the ability to anticipate needs and stay ahead of tasks. Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work seamlessly with staff, vendors, and guests. Proficient in creating and managing budgets. Comfortable using digital tools for project management, scheduling, and budgeting. Personal Attributes: A service-first mindset with a commitment to delivering excellence in every aspect of the role. A team player who is adaptable and willing to assist as needed. Detail-oriented with the ability to balance multiple priorities effectively. Requirements: A degree in hospitality management, business administration, or a related field is preferred but not required. COVID-19 vaccination is required. A valid driver's license is necessary for travel between properties. Ability to handle light to moderate physical activity related to maintenance or event preparation. While the standard schedule is Monday to Friday, occasional evenings or weekends may be required during events or emergencies. Legally authorized to work in the US. Willing to relocate to the area (if not local). Compensation and Benefits: Competitive salary, based on experience. Comprehensive benefits package. Relocation assistance if necessary.
