Job Description
Thank you for your interest in employment with Louisiana Tech University. The College of Applied and Natural Sciences seeks a Director of Communications and Engagement that will develop and execute comprehensive communication strategies to amplify the mission of the college. The position will integrate innovative public relations techniques that will engage new and existing audiences and support organizational growth. Working under the direction of the dean, the Director of Communications and Engagement will develop strategic plans for the college's communication objectives through collaboration with the college leadership team and will oversee the expansion of the college's presence across print and social media platforms.
Responsibilities:
- Manage and create content for college external and internal communications through press releases, social media, college website, and newsletters.
- Provide communications to keep college faculty, staff, and students informed.
- Collaborate with academic units and college admissions specialist to create and disseminate academic program promotional materials.
- Work with college development officer to create and execute donor engagement strategies.
- Collaborate with University Communications, adhere to university standards, and work within the strategic framework of the University.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in communications, marketing, or a related field with experience in communications, marketing, and/or public relations.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including an ability to write for a variety of audiences and channels with strong editing skills.
- Ability to work as part of a team.
- Successful track record in setting priorities and meeting deadlines.
- Strong organization and problem-solving skills.
- An eye for creative design to effectively communicate vision.
