About Maddox + You:

We are seeking an experienced, highly organized and detail-oriented Cost Accountant to join our accounting team. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining the company's inventory general ledger subsystems and manufacturing data, as well as providing profit margin analysis for financial reporting and decision-making.

More about You:

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Maintain and improve cost accounting systems and procedures
  • Perform cost variance analysis, including PPV, labor, overhead, and material variances
  • Maintain and update standard costs of raw materials, labor, and overhead
  • Monitor and report on cost performance and identify areas for improvement
  • Assist budgeting and forecasts team with items related to inventory and cost accounting
  • Support internal and external audits by providing necessary cost-related data and analysis
  • Maintain G/L accounts for inventory across multiple facilities, ensuring compliance with accounting standards
  • Perform inventory reconciliations at period end and investigate variances accordingly
  • Coordinate annual and periodic physical inventory counts with the inventory team to ensure accuracy
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual cost reports
  • Participate in special projects as needed, providing support to financial initiatives

Experience & Education:

  • Minimum bachelor's degree in accounting or finance, Masters preferred.
  • CPA preferred.
  • Minimum 6 years of accounting experience, with 2-4 years specializing in cost accounting.
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
  • Advanced in Microsoft Excel and Word required.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency with ERP type accounting software.

Pay: Starting range with bonus: $80k-$100k. Plus up to $1k/month wellness stipend and other benefits.
