Job Summary:

The Cost Accountant will play a crucial role within the accounting and finance operations of the company, focusing on cost accounting and financial reporting. This position will involve analyzing financial data, preparing reports, and providing insights to improve financial performance.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare and analyze cost accounting reports, including product costs, variances, and profitability analyses.
• Monitor inventory levels and conduct regular inventory audits to ensure accuracy.
• Collaborate with production and operations teams to analyze costs and identify opportunities for cost reduction and efficiency improvements.
• Support month-end and year-end closing processes, including journal entries and account reconciliations.
• Prepare financial statements and reports in compliance with GAAP and internal policies.
• Coordinate with external auditors during the audit process, providing necessary documentation and explanations.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred but work equivalency will suffice.
• A minimum of three years experience as a cost accountant
• Proficiency in accounting software and ERP systems with strong Excel skills.
• Must have agriculture, manufacturing, distribution, and/or consumer goods industry experience.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments.
• Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to identifying issues and implementing solutions.
