We are currently seeking a highly detail-oriented Construction Staff Accountant to join our team. This role is integral to maintaining our financial records and ensuring the accuracy of financial transactions. The Construction Staff Accountant will be responsible for recording, reconciling, organizing, and auditing financial data to produce accurate financial reports and ensure compliance with accounting standards.

Key Responsibilities :

• Financial Reporting : Prepare and analyze financial statements, applying accounting principles. Generate detailed reports on financial performance and variance analysis.
• General Ledger Management : Maintain the integrity of the general ledger. Reconcile accounts and resolve discrepancies, including managing cash reconciliations across five divisions.
• Compliance : Ensure adherence to accounting standards and regulations. Assist in audits by providing necessary documentation.
• Process Improvement : Identify opportunities to improve accounting procedures and implement best practices for efficiency.
• Collaboration : Work closely with various departments, including operations and procurement, to gather and organize financial data.

Qualifications :

• 3+ years of experience as a bookkeeper or accountant, preferably with a focus on the construction industry.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software; experience with Sage is a plus.
• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Strong attention to detail, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
• Experience with financial reporting, account reconciliation, and general ledger management.

Position Details :

• This position is based at our headquarters in Sterling, VA , and is 100% onsite.
