About the Role

The Company is in need of a Chief Medical Officer (CMO) to lead and oversee a wide range of clinical and strategic initiatives. The CMO will be responsible for ensuring clinical excellence, quality improvement, and the appropriate and affordable utilization of inpatient and outpatient services. This leadership role also involves managing health system relationships, regulatory compliance, and driving growth in alignment with the organization's goals. The successful candidate will hold primary responsibility for the performance of total medical expenses per member per month, collaborate with enterprise stakeholders, and engage with external constituents to promote the company's mission. Applicants for the CMO position at the company must have a minimum of 3 years of work experience in commercial health insurance as a medical director or CMO, in addition to at least 2 years of clinical practice experience. Strong knowledge of the managed care industry, the Affordable Care Act, and the Medicaid line of business is essential. The role requires a leader with a background in quality management, a medical degree from an accredited program, and successful completion of a residency training program, preferably in primary care. Familiarity with current medical issues and practices, as well as knowledge of value-based contracting, is also preferred. The CMO will be expected to identify and address health outcome disparities and work towards maintaining multicultural healthcare distinction.
